Odette, Best Puppy N.S.W. 2006. CYPRUS MULTI CHAMPION, EuDDC CHAMPION (Best Harlequin Bitch Europe 2008), RUSSIAN CHAMPION, GREEK CHAMPION, SLOVENIAN CHAMPION, APHRODITE WINNER, MEDITERRANEAN WINNER.
Hildydane Odette, D.O.B. 28th April 2005. A perfectly marked Harlequin bitch that we had seen on photographs being shown by Hildegard Schliefert, Hildydane Kennels, Sydney, N.S.W. She was just perfect, a real gem stone, one of those true finds of a life time. We contacted Hildegard and asked if she was for sale, A stern NO was the reply and an exchange of banter that was typical of the conversations we used to have with each other. A few phone calls later, Hildegard knew as she had learned before, I was not going to give in. Fortunately she kindly gave in and allowed us to take Odette, but only after her qualification as Best Puppy New South Wales. Talk about cutting it fine, Odette qualified just days before her first birthday, three days later she was on the plane and bound for Cyprus. Upon her arrival, tired, jet lagged and quite disorientated she settled for the evening, crying and feeling very sorry for herself. The break of daylight, a good nights sleep and Odette realised this was her new home, she accepted our food and she became the latest addition to our family. She now holds her own with the other dogs, even giving big boy Polo a run for his money. She had her second season not long after arriving and she has now become the most affectionate Dane I have seen. We put a bit of weight on her and within weeks she started to look like a true show girl. We take her down to the tourist area in Paphos to socialise and interact, she also loves having her photo taken. We also practise her show work by the harbour, a beautiful setting and as the crowds gather, she steps up a pace as if to say, ” look at me, how fantastic do I look” As you can see from the phots of Odette, she has the makings of overtaking her cousin Heidie for Cyprus Best Great Dane. Cyprus Champion and International Champion, well !!!! we have to have something to set our goals on. So far at the time of reporting Odette is just 2 year old and already Multi Champion of Cyprus, Russian Champion, EuDDC Champion, Greek Champion, Slovenian Champion and Aphrodite Winner, some of the latter judges tell us she has one of the most beautiful heads seen on a Dane bitch for quite some time and that her showy approach in the ring is going to very soon overtake our boy Zac. She has also taken top winning place over the World Champion harlequin bitch on a number of times.

Hallo,
I just curious to know, what greatdane color which has the long years longevity ?
We know there are 6 colors, but its a pity, its life time so short, and that makes us sad, I just want the longest one that can stay with our family longer…., Thanks for the answer.
I know here a blue greatdane stay in my neighbour, Oniel from Hildydane but Hecant have a puppies now he is too old to breed, 8 years…., Harlequin is that dog have longer life time too live.

My name is Kerrie Loseby and I live in Australia. I am blessed to have Odette’s litter sister Olympiah. My husband and I have known Hilda Schliefert for over 12 years, getting our first Harlequin Aust Ch Hildydane Beau Zest from her. His father was the German import Darwin Von Bjorndal. Beau has just recently turned 12 years of age and still going so strong. We then purchased another harlequin, Hildydane Jennevieve, who went on to become an Aust Champion. Her sire was Aust Ch Harlekin Hellfire. After we lost Jennevieve we felt the need to get another beautiful harlequin and could not go past Hilda’s kennels. Hilda had intended keeping Olympiah but so generously insisted that we should take her. Although we have only had Olympiah with us for less than 3 months she is now more than half way to her Australian Championship. Many Judges tell us she is a most stunning Great Dane with a big future.
Your web site is a credit to you. I have enjoyed so much seeing the updated pics of Odette and all your beautiful Danes. Congratulations on your recent huge wins. Your love of your dogs shows through in all your photos.
