Do not leave him outside in the winter for more than ½ hour at a time – since they have no undercoat, they freeze easily. Provide your dog with a soft place to lay: blankets, dog beds and crib mattresses work well.
Make sure their joints are not directly on the floor, a raised bed with soft bedding is a good protector against pressure points. Great Danes should never be left in a parked car with the windows closed at any time.
