Introduction
Based in Europe on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus, boasting 360 days sunshine per year, Paul Bainbridge & Craig Hulme of Apollodane Great Danes have brought together some of the finest bloodlines of show quality Great Danes from around the world. Recognising the true Great Dane standard, care and attention has been dedicated over 35 years to perfect the quality of Great Danes being born to this kennel. No expense has been spared when it comes down to the health and wellbeing of the animals and guarantees against Artial Septal / Interventricular Septal Defects, Persistent Ductus Arteriosus, Persistent Right Aortic Arch, Pulmonic Stenosis, Aoritic Stenosis, Stockards Disease, MegaEsophagus, Renal Dysplasia, Unilateral Renal Agenesis, Polycystic Kidneys, Ectopic Ureter, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Cyclic Neutropenia, Cheiloschisis, Palatoschisis, Atresia, Rectovaginal Fistula, Dyschondroplasia, Spina Bifida and Hip Displacia are all things which have been taken in to consideration to ensure the breeding programme is followed with a strict eye, resulting in good strong healthy puppies with a long life span.
The journey began with a rescue Great Dane from the local shelter in Cyprus after many years showing, breeding and perfecting in English Cocker Spaniels back in the UK. A four month holiday in Australia resulted in a chance meeting with some of the worlds finest Great Dane breeders, one such person being the then President of the New South Wales Great Dane Club, Ms Hildegard Schliefert of Hildydane Kennels our mentor on this journey. A number of dog shows later, including the most prestigious Sydney Royal, we found ourselves captured under the spell of this magnificent breed, “The Great Dane” and it was here our journey commenced. What a great website and some very fine Harlequins…Just lost my 10 year old male 4-11-2007. Very sad day but he was my best friend for 10 years is how I look at it. Otis is missed by all who knew him and there are many a funny story to be told about him….Ü

Finally; I am surfing true your lovely pages. You have really done a great work with these pages.
Fun to see all the nice photos of the dogs and you,at the swimming pool, and in it… If I look our my window just now… I see snow and ice…;-) No summer here yet… that is for sure.
